“I know you’re not going to tell me where you get your sources, but can you at least explain what that means?” Xander asked, standing behind Fatimah, who had been handling the primary system for the past hour.

Xander had learned a lot about advanced coding since Fatimah joined the team. Sometimes, squeezing answers from Fatimah was a lot harder than quenching one's thirst from a coconut. Ever since they received the instruction to embark on “level two,” Xander couldn't keep up with the torrent of the information displayed on the screen. Level two was code for a task to bring down the one person who had made it his life’s purpose to make Michael’s life uncomfortable.

“Which one?” Fatimah asked without looking up.

“The archer guy,” Xander replied, pointing at an image that seemed like it was photographed on someone’s skin.

“That’s a tattoo.”

“I know it’s a tattoo. What does it mean?”

“It’s called a centaur, the symbol for the Calvary.”

Xander wanted to ask another question but quickly realized that Fatimah would keep providing half-cooked answers. He took out his phone to check for what the term Calvary meant.

“You’re consulting Google, aren’t you?” Fatimah asked, still working on the system. “It’s a cult.”

“What’s a cult?”

“Calvary,” Fatimah answered, rolling her eyes and sighing exhaustedly. "During the investigation on the deaths that had occurred between July of last year until now, a number of the victims had that image tattooed on their chests. This means that they belonged to an elite cult and a secret syndicate formed about ninety years ago. Thirty years ago, the organization disagreed on some policies enforced by a top hierarchy. The disagreement was later handled until it came up again among some factions. There was a fallout among them. The minority fraction continued to use that symbol, but with a little adjustment. Instead of a bow, the centaur carried a jar of water."

“So, does that mean the one on the screen is from a member of the larger fraction?”

"Exactly. One would expect that the archers, or Dark Calvary, as they were called, should be the ones doing the killing. But it seems like the peaceful faction of the cult are the ones doing the damage."

“So, does that mean that Detective—”

"Yes, Detective Lookman belongs to the Dark Calvary. The reason why he took up this particular case is to protect this information from getting out, and also to find out the outcasts that terminated these victims."

"What about ’em?" Xander hesitated to mention names in the hope that Fatimah knew who he was referring to.

“Boss? Come on, Xander, you can’t be that ignorant to believe that the doctor is capable of—”

"No, I wasn't referring to Dr. Bello. I'm talking about Detective Sunday. Do you think he's also a member of the cult? ’Cause, if he is, that would explain a lot to me."

“I don’t know about that, Xander. If you want to investigate your father, go ahead. Right now, we have one job to do.”

The information they had on Lookman had been kept secret for years.
